The Facials Specialty Program prepares students to cleanse and beautify the face and body to enhance a person’s appearance. The program’s mission is to help students gain the knowledge and skills needed to become licensed Facials/Skin Care Specialists and begin a successful career in the beauty industry.
Instruction is designed to qualify students for employment upon successfully obtaining a Facials Specialist License.
What You’ll Learn:
The course content includes:
- Communication, leadership, and human relations skills
- Safe and efficient work practices
- Florida cosmetology law and rules
- Facial skin care techniques and related chemistry
- Bacteriology, anatomy, and physiology
- Manipulative and electrical techniques used in facials
- Brow arching, eyelash extensions, and waxing
- Microdermabrasion and the art of makeup
- Planning, management, and technical production skills
- Health, safety, and environmental procedures
Students train in a hands-on laboratory setting using professional tools, products, and equipment. All instruction follows state safety and sanitation standards for the trade.
Program Length & Structure
Total Program
Students complete the Facials/Skin Care Specialist course through classroom instruction and practical application.
To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must:
- Complete 220 hours of instruction
- Perform 45 facial services
- Achieve a passing score of 75% or higher on a comprehensive final exam administered by the instructor
Upon successful completion, students are eligible to apply for the State Board License.

Admission Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Not currently enrolled in a K–12 program
